Baxley

{ baxley }
Meet Baxley! My boyfriend and I adopted this 10 month old puppy from a rescue about two weeks ago (which may explain my bit of slack on posting lately)! He has brought so much joy into our home and we are so thankful to have him in our family. Before us, Baxley had been adopted when he was about 6 months old, and sadly had been given back to the rescue since the family ended up changing their minds last minute. So until now, our little pup had been fostered all his life. I'm gonna be honest and admit that the first week was somewhat of an emotional roller-coaster for me since Baxley had to readjust to living with yet another family -- us. On top of having to fit a new routine into our daily schedules, we had to also gain each other's trust. And so he did, thanks to patience

Anywho, I'm gonna stop blabbing now and just say that I am very thankful for everything it took to have him in our home, forever.

These are only a few of the many photos I have taken of him so far, I just didn't want to shower you with a million Baxley photos. ;) Hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday! I am currently trying to get over the horrible cravings for the yummy holiday desserts I splurged on this past weekend!

Your Love Is Gold

Currently, I cannot stop obsessing over James Vincent McMorrow's gentle voice and overall wonderfulness.  Nothing beats sitting outside on a somewhat-chilly autumn afternoon (with my favorite sweater of course), and just relaxing to this man's mellow-natured soul.

"Hear the Noise that Moves so Soft and Low" is a definite favorite of mine by him. So, if you're reading this, I hope you take a second to check out some of his tunes. I promise it will be well worth listening! >> James Vincent McMorrow's Website

OH! And just a fun little side-note: my 6 month old puppy Baxley is finally arriving tomorrow.  It has been a good two weeks since my boyfriend Scott and I have been waiting ever-so-patiently for our pup to come home. We adopted him from a rescue shelter in South Carolina, even though we live in northern Virginia. But besides the distance, we are more than thrilled for his arrival. Expect several (and possibly more) photos of him in my next post. I cannot wait to share this little guy with you all!

Thrifting Part II

Unfortunately, I did not find much much on my thrifting adventure the other day, so there is not much to share with you all except for several random pins and my lovely new jewelry dish that are presented in the first two photos.

The other photos to follow are snapshots of the store and generally show why thrift stores have so much wonderfulness to them. Hopefully I have better luck next time!  It's late, and I have to be up in 5 hours.  Goodnight!

Thrifting!

If there's one thing I love (besides Scott, my family, and soon-to-be-puppy Baxley), it's finding good thrift deals. I head back to work tomorrow, so what better way to spend the day off snapping photos and thrifting? I thought so too. ;)  And finding a vintage camera while thrifting makes for an even better day off!
{ my small collection of vintage cameras }
Vintage cameras, in my opinion, are tricky to find. Especially in the Northern VA area where I currently live.  Maybe I should try to always make a point to visit at least one thrift store or antique store on every trip I go on in the future? Oh, and mini-trips count too.

If I find anything good today, I'll be sure to include photos in my next post. Wish me luck!

And so it begins...

Hello!

I've finally done it, I have my own blog! There are lots of reasons I can share with you as to why I have been wanting to start a blog, but I will save the the long meaningless explanations and just start posting (as much as I can each week).

Sooner or later, I can check this "to do" goal off my lifetime checklist.

Happy first day of posting!
